Dental Crowns and Bridges

While prevention is the best medicine when it comes to maintaining your oral health, most of us at some point will need dental treatment. When your tooth sustains a fracture, chip, or injury beyond what a dental filling can restore, a dental crown is typically recommended.

If you’ve found that your tooth is in need of repair, look no further than Performance Dental Center. Here, you’ll find high quality dentistry delivered in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

What Is a Dental Crown?

Designed to replace your entire tooth while protecting your root, a dental crown fits over your remaining tooth structure and restores the function of your natural tooth. This preserves your natural root structure while you’re able to eat, chew, brush, and floss like normal. Dr. Sigman will customize your crown so that it matches your existing teeth and complements your smile.

The process to complete your crown typically requires two appointments. You’ll come to our office to have your tooth prepared for your new crown, and you’ll leave wearing a temporary crown. Dr. Sigman sends his designs and specifications for your new tooth to the dental laboratory, which uses high quality porcelain to fabricate your restoration.

We work with only the best dental laboratories in Boulder to ensure that you receive a high quality restoration you’ll be proud of for years to come. When it’s completed, you’ll return to our office to have your new tooth permanently placed. The entire process takes about two weeks to complete.

What Is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a solution for patients missing one or more adjacent teeth. A bridge utilizes dental crowns on your healthy teeth as anchors, which support one or more prosthetic teeth to fill in the gap. A bridge is also custom designed to enhance and restore your smile. Keeping your anchor teeth clean and healthy is important to ensure the longevity of your bridge.

Dental implants can also be used as anchors to support a bridge. This offers your bridge more stability while preserving the health of your bone. An implant-supported bridge can be an excellent long-term option for replacing multiple missing teeth.
